The South Australian Government works in partnership with industry to identify and facilitate the development of both outbound and inbound recreation and sport products and services for international markets. Adelaide boasts some of Australia's leading facilities and infrastructure for international competitive sports and its sport support services are rated as some of the best in the world. This investment in quality infrastructure has resulted in a world-class field of South Australian athletes competing on the world stage.

But not everyone can compete in sport at elite levels and community-based recreation is therefore an important part of the South Australian lifestyle. There are many hundreds of kilometres of bike and walking trails in all parts of the State. Thousands of people take part in a range of water activities, including boating, swimming, surfing and fishing. Community recreation facilities - parks, gardens and amateur sporting areas - are highly developed and well patronised; and Adelaide's parklands are internationally renowned as a recreational resource, much loved and protected by the entire population.

This dedication to sport and recreation has created a symbiotic relationship between sport and recreation on the one hand, and business on the other. Sport promotes business, and business is involved in sport at all levels from sport science to facility construction, from equipment manufacture to administration planning and marketing, from lighting to landscaping, from sports medicine to sports education, and from recreational tourism to elite athletic training. There is no aspect of sport and recreation where you will not find a South Australian company directly and actively involved. This breadth of expertise can be categorised into five key capabilities:

Sports Infrastructure and Facilities
Sports Medicine
International Training Camps
Event Management
Boating and Marine
