South Australia has a dynamic domestic and export boating and marine industry - not surprising for a State with 3,700 kilometres of coastline and a very active tourism and recreation industry centred around the River Murray.

There are more than 55,000 boats in South Australia of all shapes and sizes. The boating industry provides direct employment for around 1,800 people with an annual payroll in excess of AUD 40 million. Exporters are not just boat-builders: other successful businesses include surfboard manufacture for a discerning world market.

"I love what I do, and I think that's principally why Binks Yachts is one of Australia's most successful and experienced builders of production cruiser/racing yachts. We've been in this business for more than 40 years and every craft incorporates modern design principles, highest quality materials and innovations along with superb craftsmanship. Binks yachts are designed for both speed and comfort and are tailored to suit individual needs and requirements. Our recent Farr 51 and Farr 41 models are designed in conjunction with Bruce Farr, the world's greatest yacht designer. Over the years our firm has received many accolades. We have designed and built three World Champion 505 Class dinghies, two World Champion 420 class dinghies and have captured three Australian Design Awards."
